Hi Ari, 

The 10 MHz ref clock input on the 7000DLE automatically detects whether the clock is present on the rear panel connector and uses it if it is there.  You do not need to enable it. 

I recommend 0dBm for the input level, seems to work fine for me.  I don’t think +5dBm would damage it but personally I’d be more comfortable using 0dBm.  A simple in-line external attenuator would lower the level for you if you wished to obtain a level closer to 0dBm instead.
