Marc,

Very good post.  It is Phil's baby, but if he is truly putting out as an 
openhpsdr project, with all the details,

then I will make an effort to make sure boards are available to all at 
cost.  I will find some way to do it.

I will also start on an external box to provide filtering and such.

Since I have no details, I have no way to get started.

I have made Munin II boards to folks at low cost before, thanks to 
Kjell's help in getting started.
