[hpsdr] Thetis V2.8.11 with Hermes for RedPitaya

Thank you for sending your confirmation memo.

Here is my answer based on my experience with PSDR mrxPS and RedPitaya though it may not be official reply from RedPitaya community.


  1.  Yes, Dual receiver capability is nature of  RedPitaya and PSDR mrxPS provides Dual receiver capability including Diversity function. This is the reason why I am favor of PSDR mrxPS among several SDR candidates.
  2.  PSDR mrxPS also provides PS as well by feeding to the second ADC. Therefore,  as you stated, It is a choice to select either Diversity or PS. However, it is easy to get both functions by the addition of a RX/TX relay to the second ADC path.

So, my intention was to maintain the backword compatibility with PSDR mrxPS in this thread.

Now, I was informed that Thetis can provide Diversity function for RedPitaya with ANAN-100D setting. Indeed, I confirmed that it works. So, I am further checking whether PS would work with ANAN-100D setting for RedPitaya but so far I am not successful in either case of the first ADC path or the second ADC path feeding.  I think it is better to have suggestion from Thetis developers at this moment.

Hi Take-san,

is it right that the Diversity function can be started for the Redpitaya under PSDR mrxPS? For my knowledge the second ADC of the RP is used as feedback for PS data. Therefore you would have decide between PS or diversity.

Hi,

As default, would you enable Diversity menu selection for Redpitaya, which has two A-D converters, when “HERMES” is selected?

This is the OpenHPSDR  mrxPS procedure and I do not think it is harmful for other Hermes users.
