MERCURY will be using the Linear LTC2208 so it will be a significantly wider bandwith.<br>HORTON is another receiver with narrower bandwidth than MERCURY.<br><br>(2) Because the TI DSP is being used for SDX on EAGLE. Plus the development tools were provided by TI, AD or Moto/Freescale didn't provide their development tools (so it's a matter of economics). SASQUATCH is a slightly modified reuse of the SDX design. <br><br>The HPSDR wiki and the website have some good information on the cards and the logic behind their designs.<br><br>Yes, AD has some

I have two (potentially silly) questions about some of the hardware being chosen:<br>

1. If AD has some nice 1-2 Msps 24 bit ADCs now (as was mentioned
earlier on the list), then why not use one of them in Janus instead of
limiting ourselves to consumer audio speeds of 96-192 Ksps?<br>

2. I know there may be some AMSAT history I'm missing, but why use a TI
DSP for the Sasquatch board, rather than something easier to program
(IMHO) like a AD Sharc or a Moto?<br>
