It's similar to the 21262 I'm playing with but has twice the performance - 2400

I'm working on a very simple PCB for the 21262
- just the DSP, SPI flash memory and a codec. I've downloaded the
VisualDSP++ toolset and will get 90 days use out of it before the license
expires. I wish I could afford to buy it, but it costs about $3,000. ADI ought
to give me a copy in return for the time I spent finding and getting round
numerous bugs in the beta version of the first release, some years ago. The
assembler even generated the wrong code for one instruction! It took a long time
to find what was going wrong, as I was using the compiler. The current version
is excellent. The debugger hardware would be nice to have, as well, but costs
lots more $$$. TI's tools cost about the same, of course.
