Another possibility could be to use the Phase display of Winrad, when
set to ECSS mode.<br>

It will hunt the carrier received, setting the frequency and phase of
the internal NCO so that the phase error will be zero.<br>
You can then read the actual frequency on the "Tune" display, and see
if there are instantaneous deviations<br>
maybe due to ionospheric propagation.<br>
