<DIV style="RIGHT: auto">I've played with step attenuators on the front of
receivers. It sounds like a cool idea to have it toggle with AGC action but I
found the changing control signals to the attenautor produced transients into
the RX path and made it useless. Selectable attenuation over the whole range
