I enjoyed reading Adam Farson VA7OJ/AB4OJ Apache Labs Test report
( http://www.ab4oj.com/sdr/apache/anan100d_notes.pdf ). Adam used
PowerSdr mRx FFT 3.1.5 but did not report what firmware he used in
the tests.

Adam reported a 50.1MHZ MDS of -121dBm and a 28.1MHZ MDS of
-131dBm. The 10 db difference seemed similar to what I observe
when I activate the Alex 6MLNA/HPF in my Apache Labs ANAN-100D.

I decided to use my meager resources to see if my ANAN-100D 6
meter performance was similar to the 6 meter results in Adams
report. While I do not have the means to measure MDS, I could
observe relative noise floor levels on the different bands. Note
that I have not calibrated receive levels of my ANAN-100, so the
absolute values will not be correct, but the relative noise floor
measurements provide interesting information about 6 meter
performance..
noise floor increased 7.6db when 6M LNA/HPF activated.

It appears from the above my ANAN-100D 6m relative noise floor
results co-relate somewhat to the differences between the 10m and
6m MDS values shown in Adam's report. Based on the above we can
assume Adam used the default PowerSDR settings and it is likely
the 6M LNA/HPF was active during his 6M measurements.

It appears there is some issue with the 6M LNA/HPF activation in
my ANAN-100D. It would be interesting to see if others observe a
similar increase in the 6 meter noise floor when the 6M LNA/HPF is
activated.
