correct as stated?
Someone has already made this point, but I'll summarize and say
one way of looking at it is that Apache Labs has leveraged an
opportunity that existed because of the OpenHPSDR project, but now
that their sales are outgrowing that demographic it might be time
to look elsewhere for polished end-user software.

Don't get me wrong - I own both a 100D and a 200D, and would love
to have both cutting edge, unfettered experimental software and a
polished, beautifully-presented but slower-moving application. I
would gladly pay for both, although I understand there are people
that can't, won't or something in between.

To really stick my foot in it, I'll also say that insisting that
"all software should be free" and enforcing that view with piracy
is, IMHO one of the most "chilling" things that's come along with
regard to the availability of top-quality software. That Phil,
Doug, Warren, Joe and whoever else contributes to design, firmware
and software for these platforms does as much as they do as well
as they do is something quite rare. I'd like to contribute, but
every time I begin I'm somehow reminded of more mundane
responsibilities... Oh yes, the bills... That's why I'd like to
see a fully-funded commercial option and "dang" those torpedoes...
Apache Labs radios are now being sold to exactly that

that, at this point in the evolution of the HPSDR platform,
both "experimental" and "plug and play" hams would obtain much
greater benefits in UI improvements than they would in yet
another mode of noise reduction.
