Thank you all (many private response) as well. I'll summarize here. I've been out of the loop for a while and noticed there was a lot of chatter about new FW versions and Protocol Version 2. I was able to make the update to the protocol 2 and the latest
PowerSDR and *assumed* the 3.X.X versions of PowerSDR talked the new protocol (where I previously had version 2.X PowerSDR). PowerSDR just wouldn't connect. I happened onto SDR Console which immediately worked, thus my questions...I didn't know about Thetis.
Had I understood this, I probably would have lagged on Protocol 1 for a little longer. </div>

Where it stands now is I was able to get Thetis to work and it seems to work well. SDR Console had some nice features but was a little flaky for me and Thetis looks like it solves those. I'll stay where I'm at now as I'm preparing for Jamboree on the Air
this weekend.</div>

As yet it's not possible to get consistent level data. S-meter readings are<br>
a farce. Correct FFT bin processing would be urgently necessary. Watch your<br>
S-Meter/noise floor while switching between different bandwidths: No<br>
reaction. Ask why no PS is possible with the SDRC.<br>
<br>
HPSDR and ANAN radios should be operated with reliable software like<br>
PowerSDR or Thetis to enjoy the real performance of these designs!<br>
