Hi group,

thanks to our 'cradle to grave welfare system' (KD5NWA aphorism) here in Germany we can
enjoy another free day (Easter monday) to play around with little multi-leg toys.

I just bought a nice little PCB designing program called 'Sprint-Layout' which does not
have all this fancy and overloaded stuff like Eagle or Kicad and therefore is very easy to
use. It features some kind of autorouting but for my first project I did not use this.

Some description as well as a fully functional demo version (no printing [except for
PRTSCRN], no saving) is available at

http://www.abacom-online.de/uk/html/produkte.html

My first project with this little program is the re-design of a studio quality mike preamp
changing all conventional parts into SMD parts. This will go as a front-end to my
Delta44 card. I just finished the design as well as the BOM. Now four of these preamps
will fit on one EURO board. Using double sided board you could even fit eight of them. It
could even be further miniturized but for now I left it like this (I am not Tony Parks).

The original preamp design can be found here:

That's how we spend our free time here in 'Deutschland'. Eric, welcome back to good old
Germany for the HAMRADIO convention.
