Without Users, testers, mentors, buyers and sellers, lurkers and general
participants, what is the point of designers or a group?

Without the designers contribution to this GROUP effort the project will
die, and design folks will probably go back to individual pursuits. Unless
they wish to market and sell their individual creation, as Gerald did, the
design effort will most probably fail.

If the designers, currently Phil_C, Phil_H, Bill, and Leon don't produce
some form of hardware/software production in a reasonable timeframe the
GROUP project will die.

Phil Covington's remarkable skills and tools, and FREE EVERYTHING offer are
allowing this to progress and realize a multi-part product to succeed. The
Atlas and the 'heart' are essential first parts, and Phil Covington, has put
his talent to work and offered the design of his version of the Lionheart
out for comments. Let's review and comment to the extent of our observation
and ability! Lurkers INCLUDED!

I am a user and mentor who BELIEVES in the potential of bringing HPSDR to a
'market'. To that extent, I have offered to sponsor the first 3 'no-touch'
alpha boards that designers, design. Not much help but part of the spirit of
the effort. Perhaps there might be a more sophisticated funding solution in
the future, but I still have not come across it. My only other chance at
contribution is to focus on Kicad, which I really like!

So let's celebrate the group effort, and produce a product! The Janus and
the Mercury depend on it and there is ample creativity at work there also!

Pitch in and JUMP it where you can.... From Phil's comments the Atlas looks
good so far!

Just my 2 cents!

Eric

Hi Ray,

Think of it as Lionheart's bigger brother. This part is critical to
the success of the whole project - without it the Atlas is pretty much
useless for now.

I am dedicated to the idea that the HPSDR designs will be open -
hardware, firmware, and software. I also will try to use "free" tools
in the development of the projects in which I am a contributor to the
extent it is reasonably possible and makes sense to do so. At the
very least, the files will be available (gerbers, PDF shematics,
Quartus files, etc...) for anyone to be able to continue on with this
project in case a member of the HPSDR "design team" decides to move
on.

I hope that there will be enough interest that there will be multiple
boards of the same basic function to choose from.
