[hpsdr] ATLAS Butterfly

Hi

One of the things I want to try and do with HPSDR is to house it in a 5.25"
drive unit. How I imagine this happening is to use an ATLAS with the two
middle connectors soldered in. These would both have a sort of mini
Pinocchio-like board connected, each with maybe two sockets at right angles
and facing opposite directions (like butterfly wings). If I can get hold of
96 pin IDC connectors then that might avoid the need to make up a PCB - I'd
just need some mounting hardware. It might be wishful thinking to get this
into a 5.25" drive bay (maybe a modified ATLAS would be needed), but
failing that I'd still like to get it into some sort of slim housing.

What worries me more is the behaviour of the buss at high frequencies.
Would it break anything or cause impedence or reflection problems to have
such an arrangement? Any suggestions about the approach to take? I figure
that if Pinocchio works then this should be possible.

Cheers
