There is no reason for having to do that, they need to have proper
extensions, at least then it will work with Windoze. If it ends in .jpg
Linux doesn't seen to have problems either.
I'm not sure where the problem lies, with the server stripping the
extension and setting the wrong mine type or the users not putting in
extension in the first place, either one needs to be fixed.
