Thanks for the introduction! Welcome! It IS exciting. I am a LOT like you,
in that I really can't contribute much in the way of technology, yet love to
read and I actually surprise myself in that I UNDERSTAND most of it. It is a
pleasure to watch the Phil's, and Bill and others work and give us an
education at the same time. We are very fortunate to have these people
working as a group and being able to see and occasionally contribute
something.
I might add to the group that I have had about 10 personal e-mails about the
Atlas board in the past few days, many of which echo your sentiments! So if
Phil and Phil and Bill and Ray and Leon and Lyle, think that folks are not
lurking and paying attention ***** WRONG! *****
You aint't seen nothin' yet. Wait till you get a gander at the Mercury, and
the Janus!
Thanks
Eric

***** High Performance Software Defined Radio Discussion List *****
Hello
just want to introduce myself to the group and say 'hello world' to
everybody. This is an outstandingly interesting project and I follow the
discussions with more and more exitement. Software defined radio has
brought my interest back to ham radio a few months ago and since then I
am collecting every information I can get hands on.
Unfortunately I cannot contribute much to the project other then
clapping hands from time to time because I am not a professional in
electronics like you folks are. And I am lacking time, that's another
thing. But I am able to solder SMDs!
I just had the same problems with the Kicad Gerber viewer under
WindowsXP. You just can see only full copper layers with some pads here
and there. I searched the web and found a free Gerber viewer which can
be downloaded after doing some registration stuff.
ViewMate from PentaLogix

Only a little contribution but maybe it helps somebody out.
Most of the time I will stay in the background admiring the creative
people in this group but you can be sure that every information is
soaked up with great interest.
