[hpsdr] GIBRALTAR, HP 10811 double oven OCXOs, and GPScon?

We need the ability to either have an external reference in or to install a GIBRALTAR. The former will probably be a simple card to plus into ATLAS with an external connector for the reference signal. GIBRALTAR will provide good frequency stability for most uses, and persons who want higher stability can use a higher-stability external reference.

Hello Alex,
to my understanding, the idea of Gibraltar is not to perform as an
Z3801A.. I guess what we need here is *precision*, not necessarily
*stability*. So a GPS rx stabilised with a medium clasee OCXO like the UK
design mentined above should be sufficient.

And more reasonable priced.. AND fitting into 100x100x (slot pitch of
Atlas).. my HP10811 is already larger than a 100mm cube, so fitting
something like this into Gibraltar sounds impossible to me.
