[hpsdr] FETs in mixers

Hi All,
I was thinking of larger FETs like say the CP640 or maybe MRF parts. Some had some quiet noise figures yet ran a bunch of watts. A pair of MRF141s would make an interesting mixer.
Also on the Lo side I saw the LO generated by a flip flop running 7 volts VCC, the hairy edge of failure. I always wanted to try a pair of 5 volt drivers Ac coupled into a transformer setting up a full bridge to a secondary making say 8 volts of square wave drive.
I just picked up some SD5000s from a friend who bought a bunch so they are still around. One could always stack two of them for more current. gfz
