[hpsdr] Demeter: Switching noise/Multi phase

Hi Jeroen, All,

Reading the posts and documents pointed to by different people on the
reflector about switching PSU's and the techniques used to reduce EMI, I
found one method which seems interesting to possibly use and to try out.

This is the method whereby a number "phases" are created to try to reduce
and "flatten" the input current peaks and by doing so the chance of possible
strong EMI effects.

If the different switching mode PSU's in the Demeter project can be
synchronized externally, this could be an option to try too.
(E.g. spreading the higher input currents of the +12 Volt and +5 Volt over
time)

Also an option of somewhat scaling the output current capacity of an SMPS by
selecting/populating more or fewer "phases"?

Disadvantage could be more (and higher in frequency) places where "spurs"
could occur.

73's,

Henry.
