Good point on #2, but then there may be hams even in
extremely advanced civilizations using old technology
for the fun of it...probably even using a wild form of
CW. ;)  Maybe we could pick it up. Hi Hi.

There are other means to search that might be more
fruitful.

One of my favorite alternatives to the radio signature
method for searching for ET's is using IR spectra to
find Dyson Spheres.
