[hpsdr] Penelope Output Power

Hi Gerd,

You are correct that PowerSDR does not have a control to set the Tx drive
level on 6m. We need to speak nicely to our PC programmer friends and ask if
they can add a control!

In the mean time you could deselect 'PA Present' in which case the power
output will be controlled by the Drive control. However, you then need to be
sure that you don't overdrive your amplifier on the lower bands.

Penelope has an ALC loop built into the FPGA code to limit the output power
to 0.5w. This is to ensure that the IP3 performance of the power amplifier
stage is very high. If this not enough power then it would be possible to
disable the ALC in the AGC so you can get more power out but this will also
degrade the IP3 figures. From memory I think it was possible to get 1w PEP
out but I needed perhaps 13v for this.

Hope that helps.
