I have been looking at the Altera site and ended up at www.altera.com/literature/lit-cables.jsp and had a look at MasterBlaster cables but this doesn't seen to tell the whole story. Do you remember the URL of where you found enough info to build your cable?

I made my own from an Altera app note.  Alternatively, Altera has them for sale.
