Good afternoon to all....

Mercury arrived safe and sound here yesterday as well. Looks to be another top-notch product from TAPR! Thanks to all who have worked so hard to get this completed!

I was wondering if anyone has put together a "quick start" guide to get up and running with the new board. If I understand correctly, I really only need Ozy, Penny and now Mercury, correct? Janus is really not needed at this time? And if not, is there a way for it to fit in later?

I am also thinking I would like to take a closer look at things to see how all of this is now starting to fit together. One of the things that intrigued me the most when I started following along with this project was the capabilities to use the HPSDR as a learning platform. Now that there are more pieces of the puzzle here, I would like to start reading up on all the modules to try and get a better understanding of how it all works. Can anyone offer any good starting points for me?? Perhaps some materials to learn how the FPGAs work, how I might utilize the HPSDR modules to learn some programming, and things like that.

I know I don't post much... but I am wanting to see if I can find a way to "fit in" with the group better and maybe even eventually contribute something back to the group as well once I can get a better understanding on how this stuff all works. One thought I had earlier today was along the lines of the Sasquatch module. I really like the looks of the Antec HTPC case that others have talked about on here. It sure would be neat to have Sasquatch interact with this case to utilize the VFD, and knob. The much talked about Beagleboard comes to mind with its USB ports and such. Of course, I am not a programmer by trade, but it might be something fun to learn when there is a project to go with it. I know I can't take the lead on anything right now... just expressing some interest in learning so that perhaps I can do more to help out later.

Thanks for letting me ramble and taking up some extra bandwidth.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season!

73!
