[hpsdr] Mercury - Placement on Atlas Bus

All,

I experienced this problem too for Mercury-EU and asked for impedance
measurements on Atlas without receiving qualified response.

The reason for this problem:
There are reflections on the Atlas bus leading to false clock triggering.

The solution:
Change the firmware on Mercury to correct the wrong pin configuration for
clocks: they are programmed with series resistors leading to a slow clock
rising and falling edge which makes the clock pulses more sensitive for
reflections. They should be changed to "slew 8_2" (especially MCLK 122.88 on
Atlas_A6)

Mercury-EU is always better.

< All,

<Good to see that the long awaited Mercury boards have started to arrive.
<Just one thing if you are using your Mercury with Penelope. For some
<reason
<the location of Penelope on the Atlas seems to be important. Placing
<Penelope BETWEEN Mercury and Ozy seems to work OK. Not sure why this
<should be but working on the issue at the moment.
