The following information has been copied and pasted
here from a post made on the website AMfone.net by
W1VD, another website that I am a member of and use
regularly. I personally find the alternator and
antenna structure very fascinating and attempt to
monitor their transmissions when possible.

reflector...

SAQ is the ID of a vintage pre-tube VLF-transmitter at
Grimeton, Sweden which is run and maintained by UNESCO
as a cultural world heritage. Besides the two official
annual transmissions in July and Christmas Eve, test
transmissions are made to verify that the alternator
and antenna system is in good working condition. I
have been informed by an engineer of SAQ that a test
transmission will take place on Wednesday, February 6,
2008 at 1000 UTC on 17.2 kHz. The duration inclusive
start-up will be approx. 1 hour. Listener reports can
be sent to: info at alexander.n.se
