Although I see where you're coming from, I don't think it serves any useful
purpose. Also once I had my investment back I was not as diligent at keeping
up my 'home made, thrown together accounting system' up to date. The actual
number of folks was not a lot. Money orders were more of a problem, but not
worth the time to chase down.
What I didn't mention in my post, but should have, is that there were many
people in the wonderful HPSDR community who 'threw in' extra money. I tried
to thank every one of them off list, but things were going fast and furious
for a while.
I ended up in a positive position, and have used the 'profit' to sponsor the
small monthly Teamspeak fee that I pay.
My sole objective at the time was to that the HPSDR group had enough of the
"Basic Building Block' to insure that the follow on projects would succeed.
That has happened. I'm not sure how many Atlas are out there but it is
substantial! I don't have the technical skill to be a designer or project
leader, so anything I can do in other ways to mentor SDR in general and
HPSDR specifically at this moment, I offer. The past 5 years of being
involved in the "SDR Phenomena" has been the most rewarding experience I
have ever had in amateur radio. SDR renewed my interest in the hobby! What
tops the list of rewards, is having met many of you folks, at Dayton and
Friedrichshafen.
MANY unselfish people contribute to this list. Just for the FUN of it!
Which makes it even more astounding.
Viva HPSDR!
Thanks!
Eric - AA4SW

>>>During that early time, I had personally up-fronted the cost of 400 Atlas
boards and 200 Pinnochio kits and sold them at cost. I transferred the
Pinocchio kits to TAPR after the agreement. It is a HUGE undertaking to do
this. I was at financial risk, and there are still people who have not paid
me for Atlas boards, and quite a few money orders would not be accepted by
my bank.
