If you are having problems bringing up Penelope, here are some things to check.

1. The version of PowerSDR has this in the title bar. It should read:
(KD5TFD 21Mar08) FlexRadio Systems PowerSDR v1.10.4+BaseSVN: 2025
***PP PTT disabled***

2. If you are missing the ***PP PTT disabled*** in the title bar,
make sure that you have followed the instructions in appendix A of
the manual to add this option to the PowerSDR command line.

3. Do you have the latest Ozy FPGA code? It is called Ozy_Janus.rbf,
dated 5-11-08 and you can get it off of the Flex SVN at:
svn://206.216.146.154/svn/repos_sdr_windows/PowerSDR/branches/kd5tfd/PennyMerge/bin/Release

4. Are you running the latest version of init_ozy11.bat? It is dated
5-9-08 and is in the same SVN directory as above.

5. When you run init_ozy11.bat, do you get any errors? You will have
to run it from a command window to see, because if you just run the
batch file by clicking the icon, it will close before you can read
the results. If two LEDs are alternately blinking on Ozy, you got a
good FPGA load, but not necessarily the correct version of Ozy_Janus.rbf.

6. Check to make sure the following are all true in PowerSDR:
under Setup-General-Hardware Config:
SDR-1000 is checked
USB Adapter is unchecked
Janus/Ozy Control is unchecked

under Setup-General-HPSDR:
HPSDR Hardware Present: Penelope is checked, Janus and Mercury are unchecked
10MHz clock source: Penelope is checked (only one can be checked at once)
122.88 clock source: Penelope is checked (only one can be checked at once)

under Setup-Audio:
under Sound Card Selection: HPSDR Janus/Ozy (USB2)

7. When you press PTT on Penelope, LED D3 on Ozy should light. If
not, check the JP4, JP5 and JP6 jumpers on Penelope.

Maybe Bill can clarify anything that I might have missed, but this
should get you started. Have fun!

Scotty WA2DFI
