Hello all:

Why not use a DDS (AD9912 overclocked to 1200 MHz) to generate the range  
up to 500 MHz and a mixer to convert to 1-1.5 and 1.5-2 GHz? This gives a  
more complex solution but also a much better one. The AD9912 has  
extremely  good spur. perf. and seems to take 1.2 GHz overclocking. MCL  
delivers LP and HP filters to clean up in the mixing process.
