When I was looking at ADCs for Mercury (back then just called HPSDR)
there were various options to choose from. Analog Devices also made
some parts that had decent SFDR in QFP packages. I chose the LTC2208
because of its SFDR at 130 MSPS.

That was true in 2006, but Linear Technology is releasing new LTC2208
pin compatible ADCs with improved SFDRs.

One very interesting part has a high speed serial output instead of
the parallel CMOS or LVDS outputs of the LTC2208. These can be
interfaced directly to FPGAs with high speed serial I/O. This would
allow a PCI or PCIe interface FPGA card in the PC to be interfaced to
an external ADC/front end board over copper cable - like CAT5 cable.
