I now have a complete transceiver now that my Penelope is woring.
I want to thank everyone for all the FB help and advise they patiently given!
I have muddled through some procedures that were new to me even though I have done some SMD work in the past. With help and encouragement I replaced the USB chip in OZY that failed due to static discharge. I removed the FPGA from Penelope and resoldered it in correct orientation. That was a biggie for me, I did not believe it could be done and reused. Granam and Phil walked me through final trouble shooting the FPGA and I found several cold solder joints on the FPGA that were quickly resoldered. WOW I can not believe I did all this and would have given up if it were not for the fine advise from the group. To all those who helped Thank You! Now on to an amp and intregated CPU,maybe an Atom.
