Speaking for myself as someone who's been around, but never quite owned, 
the Gibraltar project from the beginning, I think Graham's Excalibur is 
the right answer for HPSDR.

There are so many GPSDO options available today that it makes more sense 
to obtain one of those and use Excalibur to interface it into the HPSDR 
system.  I don't think we could develop something that's either 
significantly cheaper, or significantly better, than what's out there in 
the market now.

That doesn't mean, for example, that TAPR wouldn't support a Gibraltar 
project if one came along.  But I don't think it's necessarily the best 
place to focus our limited engineering resources.
