An aside first: Went to St John VI for a meeting the week of the CQ160. Took my QS1R along just to hear the action. Threw a 40 ft wire out of the window on my 2nd floor balcony at the Westin and tuned around the bands with good results. Came back at night and tried to listen to 160. NIL. 650 +/- microvolts of noise on the spectrum scope when it was about 4 during the day. A quick look around revealed two of those CFL lights on my deck, two above and 2 below as well as all around the place. I thought about moving down to the dock where gas flares were the order, but the bay faced straight west and steep slopes to the N and W. Nothing as quiet a my hour on Ducie some a few years ago.

I notice that the new LED light replacements at Sams/WallMart also state that they may cause radio interference. Not looking forward to the lighting future.

Anyway, came home, did the SVN and fired up HPSDR to compare: Somehow did a new Setup and then got the 'electric fence' random popping every second or so. Hadn't changed slots. Rechecked sampling, etc. and after a couple of days frustration discovered that I hadn't check a radio button on "10 MHz Clock Source"! Problems gone! Strange that it worked without selecting.

Now if I can figure out why my .dat files all have a big blue "?" on them.
