[hpsdr] Penny Power

First - I would like to say that I have my Penny group-buy kit assembled and
transmitting. Ta Da.

Now I have some questions about how the power output is supposed to work.

(I am using PowerSDR 1.10.4/2025 (10 Jan) and Penelope_V1.1)

"TUN" on SSB and CW produces 100% power output with the tune drive setting
at 100% - I can adjust the actual power using the calibration screen. But
the TX meter on the main menu only indicates the power on sideband modes; it
shows zero on CW, when in fact there really is power coming out.

On transmit (MOX) I observed the following:

On FM, power is automatically set from 100% down to 40% - I guess this is
OK, except that there does not seem to be any way to set it, for example to
50%. The 40% is indicated in the drive control box on the main screen.

On AM, the carrier power is automatically set to 25%. I understand the
reason for this, but I note that this is with the AM carrier level set to
100% (on the transmit menu). If I set that control to 25%, I get 25% of 25%
(6.3%) and while the output is at this extreme low level, the drive control
is showing 100%.

I searched the Flex Radio manual on this topic but very little info is
supplied and perhaps Penelope responds differently, in any case.

Thanks and 73

Ken
