I am copying this thread to the list as I could not find the information in
the
WIKI and perhaps someone can update the documentation for Magister and
OZY. The following is an email sent to the list last year and that is where
I
got the information.

I've released SVN 3326 of PowerSDR @:
svn://206.216.146.154/svn/repos_sdr_windows/PowerSDR/branches/kd5tfd/PennyMe
rge/bin/Release
This code includes Ozy_Janus.rbf v 16 which refines the ptt and keyer
connections on the Ozy DB9 so that PTT, Dot and Dash are now
independent signals: They are:
Pin 5: Common/Ground
Pin 6: Dash
Pin 7: Dot
Pin 8 PTT
I've also fixed the Penny w/o Merc version check glitch that Gerd reported.
Thanks to Phil Harman for the updated FPGA code.
Cheers,
Bill (kd5tfd)

Where can I find a Magister document that show DB9 pin out etc?
The IC765 will remove the antenna but still receive some of the
transmitter signal.
With PTT active will HPSDR be protected from too much RF?

That is the old original document before new OZY/MAGISTER code. Great on
the frequency
tracking, and just be sure to switch the antenna off Mercury. Also a note
to NOT use the
preamp "ON", always use it off. It will become very apparent later on, if
you leave it on, you
will see ADC overloads.

Hi Joe
Yes I just got the IC-765 to track the frequency. Your guide was
excellent. Thanks to you. Now I need to use the PTT from IC-765 & connect it to the
PTT
input on the DP9 connector on Magister. That way PowerSDR will know I want
to Tx and mute the Rx.
I just saw the Janus & Ozy Doicument at HPSDR & it show the DB-9
Connection as follows:
5 Common
6 Dash
7 Dot
But it states also That PTT is connected to pin 7 & needs to be grounded
to transmit.

Did you get your IC-765 to track the frequency of Mercury?

Can someone advise what each DB9 Pin is commonly used for?
