Okay. In an effort to clear up possible misconceptions that may have
been generated by the discussion on this thread:
32-bit PowerSDR v1.19.3, and other PowerSDR variants which are
necessarily 32-bit code due to their mixed-language nature, can run
fine on a Win 7 64-bit machine, but not directly. When such a program
does run on the 64-bit platform, it must do so via an emulation mode
that is, essentially, transparent to the user. It cannot be run as a
64-bit program, because it isn't.
The relevant point here is that you are not out in the cold with
respect to PowerSDR and its variants if you have purchased a new 64-
bit Win 7 machine. The PowerSDR programs can run on your machine
whether those programs have mixed-language code in them or not (they
do, for the most part, as George pointed out), via a "trick"; namely,
emulation.
