It's not, but the number of things that Apple is going to allow for something like that may be limited.  The Camera Connection Kit I mentioned is for connecting different USB cameras to the iPad and loading the pictures on it.  I've heard rumors that it's very flexible and will recognize most anything, but whether an app "abusing" the spec would be approved for the app store is a different story.  Besides, I'm thinking that the Metis/Hermes based systems will be much cooler for an iPad app, because the wireless will allow you to control the gear from anywhere you can get wireless.  It would kinda suck having an iPad tethered to your OpenHPSDR rig.

Yeah, I've been thinking about it quite a bit.  It's just a matter of the logistics now. :)
