Hi George.

Thank you for the answer but Phil contacted me direct so when I placed the
initHermes.bat into the directory the KK runs fine.

Tonight I have tested several if the new features in KK, among them the
speech clipper. One of my neighbor Hams is very critical on giving reports
on the audio quality (he is a Drake enthusiast) and we managed to find a
good setting for the clipper. The efficiency using 16 dB clipping is
dramatic without introducing any loss in quality. I remember Peter, G3PLX
mentioned that 15-16 dB was the level he would advice when he first told
me of this clipping method.

The interface software between Hermes and Apollo is not finished but I am
using a preliminary solution for changing the band-pass filters in Apollo.
There is a USB connection to the CPU on Apolloso we can talk to it via a
terminal program. A bit awkward but OK!

I am going to Australia on Thursday and shall visit Phil in Perth after
some days on the east and south coast, (Sidney, Adelaide and Alice
Springs). I´ll bring Hernes/Apollo with me and try to be active, at least
when we hire a Camper in Perth and drive around for 12 days. I´ll also
have an APRS Tracker so it is possible to follow us on the trip.

73, Kjell, LA2NI
