[hpsdr] FPGA suggestions needed to get new system running

A clarification is in order, I think.

To update firmware in the FPGAs it is only necessary to download the  
Quartus II Programmer, not the entire Quartus II development package.   
Sorry I didn't make that clear in my earlier post.  The Quartus II  
programmer may be downloaded from


https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/programming/quartus2/dnl-quartus2_programmer.jsp

and is only 177 MB in size, relative to the multiple GB full  
development package for Quartus II.

If you wish to work with the Verilog code and compile you will need  
the full package, but the programmer is sufficient if you simply want  
to be able to update firmware in the FPGAs to the current versions.
