[hpsdr] Center frequency

Frank,

Better to adopt some widely used "standard" serial protocol for your box.
 Then you will find you have a wide choice of software that already speaks
that protocol.  Also if one of the SDR programs were to by modified to send
out serial data when the frequency is changed it would be best if it send a
"standard" format so that it could drive more hardware.   One example of a
standard is Icom's CT-17. But there are others maybe better.

Then what you'd have to do is add a little uP that has a serial port and 16
output pins.  A pic or avr like that can be found in a 20 pin dip package
for about $3.   The uP would contnously monitor the serial port looking for
commands it recognizez then when it sees one change the values of the 16
output pins.
