[hpsdr] Metis - what am I doing wrong?!

Phil

You genius! I'm feeling rather red-faced as the problem was mostly of my making.

There is only one NIC on the PC I use for PowerSDR *BUT* I have a VPN set up for contact with my office. Unfortunately, under WinXP and probably all other manifestations of MS-Win, Windows sets up a virtual Ethernet adapter for VPNs in my case called "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8".

It appears that PowerSDR was always selecting that device in preference to the real Ethernet adapter. Only under KK was I able to see both adapters presented for selection. Strangely, though, even when I selected the real adapter I was unable to use it. KK pops up a message to the effect that KK needs to be restarted to use the newly selected adapter. However, when KK is restarted it reverts to the virtual adapter.

So I disabled the virtual adapter and KK sprang to life. Then I ran PowerSDR and that works too. Great!

Many, many thanks Phil. It's a pity Perth is so far from Sydney or else I would drop in and shake you by the hand when I'm in Aus next month.

Cheers & vy 73
