Hi Jim

The project HPSDR in my opinion is a highly experimental, but very
advanced project. Since there are many ideas, where the development can
go, it does not seem to me, that a complete turn key solution would be
what most users of HPSDR components want.

If one wants a complete solution, there are even HPSDR-based products
available (like QS1R) which can be used "turn key".

For me, the experimental character of HPSDR is the most interesting fact
about this project! You can try whatever you like: you can build your
own hardware, program FPGAs, program DSP code on the PC (under any
operating system).
Since on all levels there are resources available (hardware, software
etc.), you can select the field, in which you want to do things by
yourself!

Example: I have programmed the DSP-code on the PC by myself and by that
learned a lot about digital filters. But to start, I could use the code
(server.exe) from John Melton that makes the USB to TCP-transformation.

So, HPSDR is really a marvellous project for amateurs who want to
explore the things by themselves. There are no hidden areas, everything
is open!

I would like once again thank all people who are contributing a lot to
HPSDR, all the principal designers, the people at TAPR, all the users
who contribute very frequently to this forum and help others, when there
are questions.
