Dear all:

ANOTHER REPOST with links hopefully fixed by surrounding them with angle
brackets AND spaces... I think that it's the listserver that's enforcing
some kind of line length. I write and post in text format, so it's NOT at
my end! Also a warning previously added on the Hawkboard that uses the TI
OMAP L138. If this attempt fails, we'll have to prevail upon Dave Larsen to
post the links, unbroken, to the WIKI!

Here are the links that Bruce Perens sent me that are taken from his
presentation as part of the TAPR forum this year at Dayton. They are links
to sites with various interesting 'open source' hardware that is relatively
inexpensive.

Note that 'seeed studio' (yes, 3 'E's in seeed) is in China, but are easy to
order from. I have a 'Dangerous Prototypes' board from them already, that's
a web server on a PIC chip. Kevin Wheatley (M0KHZ) pointed me at that in
February.

OMAP L138. (TI chip with ARM and a DSP both on board)
Bruce has ordered a pair of the development boards here:

Lyle Johnson writes that this board has issues that TI has identified.
TI's full statement is:

"TI is aware of the instability problems that many customers are
experiencing with the current HawkBoard and is working actively to solve
the problem. Unfortunately, the current HawkBoard does not follow TI's
recommended layout recommendations. Even after trying Innovate
Solutions' proposed solution, the boards in our possession are still
exhibiting problems

Therefore, due to design instabilities, TI does not recommend the design
of the current HawkBoard. We do not recommend new customers order the
current HawkBoard."

TI's dev board for this product costs more than $900, so this one at just
under $100 is much less expensive, if it were only reliable!

Also there is a 32-channel logic analyzer for $50 there.

Enjoy the links! I hope none of them are too severely damaged by posting.
