[hpsdr] Questions

All:
My Atlas boards are assembled, hope to finish LPU this weekend and begin 
building the system (Metis, Mercury, Penny, Pennywhistle).  Questions:
1.  I've seem many references to versions of upldates to the boards and 
PowerSDR.  Is there a concise list of compatible versions, or should I 
just assume that the latest flash for each board is compatible with the 
others?
2.  I've seen references to a couple of different flavors of PowerSDR.  
Which is right for this configuration?
3.  The quick start guide talks about updating boards with only that 
board and Metis installed.  Yet, the Excalibur manual refers to being 
compatible with the "JTAG chain", suggesting that boards can be updated 
one at a time by selection (consistent with my read of updating 
instructions) without removing all but the one to be updated.  
Clarification?
