[hpsdr] CW keying problem

I use HPSDR as my primary radio. I've been really pleased with the 
performance and get great reports.  I've been operating CW using CWX or 
an external program such as N1MM or HRD DM780.  When I connect a key or 
keyer to METIS the first contact closure results in a much longer 
transmission.  With my keyer set to 20 WPM the first dit sounds like a 
dah.  The subsequent dits are fine.  Have I missed something?  73 Ray
