Alex filter switching is automatically done within Mercury v3.1 firmware, unless the PC program (e.g., KK, PowerSDR, etc) specifically requests "manual control" of the Alex filters.  I don't know how the latest Kiss Konsole program handles Alex but if it does nothing directly to "manually" control the Alex filters the Alex filters will be switched automatically by the Mercury v3.1 firmware depending upon the frequency you have selected.   

In "duplex" mode all Alex filters are bypassed, automatically by Mercury v3.1 firmware, unless manual control has been asserted by the PC program.  Of course, if you are not using Mercury v3.1 firmware Alex may not be switched automatically.
