Hi Wayde, 

I agree with you.  There is something amiss with the XVTR operation, I believe.  

My original observations were based on using no actual signal into the Rx.  Checking with a signal generator as an input source I see that things don't work here as I expected them to work either.  

I'll look into this more carefully and get back to you on it!
