AFAIK,  the ASIO4ALL is the poor man's ASIO implementation, that under the hood
interfaces with WDM. It is meant for those cards that do not have native ASIO drivers.
In the tests that I did when developing Winrad, ASIO proper did give a good latency
decrease, while ASIO4ALL did not perform as well.

And, unless they changed something, you can open just one ASIO driver at a time.
At least this was true at that time.

Maybe there more information can be found on the subject.
