[hpsdr] Tablets and Hermes

My thanks to Chris Albertson for injecting a breath of sanity into this discussion. The noise of axes being ground was becoming deafening.

I have to admit to an overwhelming and pathological hatred of all things Microsoft but that hasn't stopped me using PSDR although it has prevented me from attempting to make any modifications to that suite.

I have previously made a plea that any future software should be truly cross-platform. Lets try and make that a goal. Please ... pretty please?!

Cheers & 73

The advantage of "existing" is that there are already usble GUIs that run on many different devices, like tablets and phones and computers and even physical controls surfaces.

But you can see on the linked photo how these generic controllers work. You map the on-screen controls to software functions and the end user and move things around on the screen as he likes.

The thing to remember is that the interface between the controller and the software is a well established industry standard so if you don't like iPads and v-control there are 100 others
