Hi guys,

The picture is not as dreary as painted, hi. For my impression the Ham Radio
Friedrichshafen was big success for pointing out the supremacy of SDR,
especially of direct sampling. It was rather lonely on the booths of ICOM,
Kenwood etc.

Phil, VK6APH and Kjell, LA2NI were acknowledged with a lot of applause
presenting the samples of HERMES and APOLLO. An effective DSP method to
boost output power with RF clipping was explained by Phil too. Hermann,
DL3HVH, enthused the audience with the possibilities of his cuSDR. Parallel
processing by using the facilities of graphical processors seems the way to
reduce latency and approach 'real time'. I'm sure we can expect a lot of
surprising innovation from Hermann in the next future.

Gerald, K5SDR, supported his European branch to introduce the Flex-6000
series. Good to hear that he mentioned a certain groundwork done by the
HPSDR group, which was helpful for this project.

EXPERT Electronics from UA6 was represented the first time with their new
TRX sunSDR2: a really very nice design using most modern components, but
some traps can be hidden in details. Objective measurements have to verify
the claimed data and performance. If I will get a sample in autumn I can
report.

No significant news concerning WINRADIO WR-G31DDC, Perseus etc.

It was reported, that Hans, HB9CBU, released some updates for ADT200A, but
as Reuter-electronic he was absent due to internal reasons.

73's Helmut, DC6NY
