I just wanted to make a quick announcement for folks who may have not noticed or haven't been following.

The Monday and Tuesday before Hamvention I made the first releases of Heterodyne for iPad through TestFlight for people to try out. It's by no means perfect yet, but there is at least basic SSB transciever functionality right now. This was all running on the iPad 3, and was on display at Dayton. I did have a little bit of problem with the wireless at the show because of the nasty RF environment, but I think we have most of that solved by now. If iPad-less people are curious, there is a short video on my youtube page at http://youtu.be/PnQzfI-Zugk Please note because of the way this is recorded the sound and video are a little bit jumpy. It's a lot smoother in person.

In other news I have borrowed an iPad 1 to do some testing with. Initially because of some issues with the differences in maximum OpenGL texture sizes on the different platforms, the waterfall wasn't working. I've poked at the code a little to make it more dynamic about how it figures out texture sizes and I've gotten an iPad 1 to successfully display the application. There are still a few bugs to work out, but it's looking good about having code to make the iPad 1 work. That being said, unlike the iPad 3, the iPad 1 isn't fast enough to handle 192k datarate from the hardware. It seems to do much better on 96k and that platform will use that datarate. In a couple of days I'll probably release another build that will include iPad 1 support. If you'd like to try this out, sign up on TestFlight
http://bit.ly/HGVq3u Please do not sign up unless you intend to test the app and give me some feedback. I only have 100 devices a year to which I can send out test code, so I really don't want to waste these slots unless they're going to do some good.

Thanks for everyone's support, and please let me know how it's working (or more likely not working) for you.
