[hpsdr] TAPR Hermes/Apache-Labs ANAN-10 -- Proposing Newbie Group??

Larry,
I have had an Apache Labs production version of the ANAN-10 running
for about 2 weeks.

Have used PowerSDR 2.3.3, KISS Konsole and cuSDR. I have used VAC
with Teamviewer and Splashtop to remote control the unit over the
Internet using my Android Tablet with mixed success.

I have a Flex 1500 and find the Hermes/Anan-10 to be a better
receiver, primarily due to lack of receiver image issues, wider RX
bandwidth, and 2 receivers.

But the best thing about it is some of the whiz-bang features in
PowerSDR 2.2.3 that are not available in the Flex versions. The AGC
gain line display on the panadapter is extremely useful. I could never
get NR working correctly until i used the gain line to set the AGC just
above the noise floor visually. The collapsible display is
indescribably useful. I do not like the standard PowerSDR GUI with tons
of buttons and sliders cluttering up the screen. Now I have just the
controls I need to operate and no more. Will simplify remote control
operation for sure.

I would prefer not to subscribe to "yet another" discussion list.
You might want to consider subscribing to the the Apache-Labs Yahoo
group for discussions primarily about the ANAN-10. There are quite a
few users who are subscribed to both lists.
